Leon D. Moranville, 88, of El Cajon, CA passed peacefully in his home on July 7th, 2020. Leon was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 28th, 1931 to Leon A. Moranville and Irene Moranville Hatfield. After moving to San Diego, Leon served in the United States Air Force before joining his father in their real estate business.
Leon was a loving husband, doting father and grandfather, devoted son, and longtime member of the Elks. He adored his dog, Elizabeth, and his cat, Archie. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, and he could often be found in his backyard drinking a beer under his orange tree. Leon was razor sharp and gave the best advice. He was incredibly generous, a skilled handyman who could fix anything, and he lived humbly. He had an incredible sense of humor and lit up the room with his infectious laughter. On trips to the grocery store, he was known to say, “I’ll buy it as long as you eat it!”
Leon is survived by his children, Leon P. Moranville, Kenny Moranville (Susy), Ken Wood, Rick Wood, and Sandy Brodak (Philip); his eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his first wife, Patricia Moranville Barrer; and beloved cat, Archie. Leon was predeceased by his second wife, Virginia Moranville.
