Concetta "Connie" Bowen

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Concetta Bowen. She was born in Partinico, Sicily, Italy, on 02/21/1949. Connie was home, surrounded by her family when she passed on July 16, 2022. She had been fighting lymphoma cancer for 12 years.

A Rosary will be held at El Cajon Mortuary 07/24/2022, at 6:00 pm. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church on 07/25/2022 at 10:00 am.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Michelangelo Casarrubia and Lucrezia Casarrubia. She is survived by her loving husband, Al, her daughter Julie, son Robert, stepsons David and Daniel, and six grandchildren.

Connie was a beautiful lady: caring, loving, and generous. She was a proud naturalized American citizen and proud of her Sicilian heritage. Her family and her faith were always her primary concerns.

She was very active in her Church. During the initial building and furnishing of St. Luke Church, she took the lead in hosting fantastic and successful fundraising events, dinners, and social functions. She also served on several ministries.

Connie graduated from Mt. Miguel High School and worked at California First Bank prior to taking an early retirement.

Caring for her family was her other constant priority. She gave care to her parents, to her children, to her husband, and to her grandchildren. She maintained a beautiful, loving home and environment for all her family. She kept a close relationship with her relatives still living in Italy.

Connie was a fantastic cook. We have no doubt she is up in God’s kitchen right now, preparing a huge dinner for all the other Angels and Saints.
