He will be dearly missed by Wendy, his wife of 48 years. Together they have two children Jim and Eileen and her husband Jeff and their children Kailey, Wyatt, Sarah and Peyton. In laws: Lynn and John, Rae, Donis, as well as nieces, nephews, Aunt and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Mary Loney and his brother Norval.
Bill loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was proud of the wonderful people they are becoming. He was kind and generous ready to do anything for them. Bill loved family conversations with the grandchildren, giving special treats for birthdays and especially Christmas Eve.
He was admired by his family. He was very insightful, talked easily with people and was a great listener.
He enjoyed talking with neighbours who became good friends.
Bill and Wendy met during high school years and married in 1976. They loved each other and were inseparable. In 1979 they built their house. They looked forward to camping every year, gardening. Bill enjoyed building projects for the yard, or sitting quietly outside with one of many dogs over the years.
Bill worked for 43 years at Labatt Breweries. He had a strong work ethic and dedication to the job, retiring in 2016. He enjoyed catching up with friends when they called to see how he was doing. He looked forward to the yearly get togethers after retiring.
Bill’s family would like to thank the staff of University of Alberta Hospital ER and ICU units for their excellent, compassionate and dignified care of Bill and their care and support of his family during his last few weeks.
Bill chose to have a family celebration and burial.
