It is with great sadness & heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife & nana, Sybil Jean Ciciarelli. She passed away September 16, 2024 after a lengthy battle with kidney disease at the Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood.
She is survived by her loving sons, Michael (Trista) & Alan (April). Sybil will be remembered by her Grandchildren, Taliayh, Angelo, Frankie, Giovanni, Vincent, Akeria, Hayden, and Cole; her Nephew, Dan (Wende); her Brother-in-law, Fred (Gloria), and numerous nieces and nephews who will all remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her loving Husband of 47 years, Frank, her Parents, Elizabeth and Sydney, and her Big Brother, James “Jim”.
Sybil’s greatest joy was Family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved Edmonton Eskimos football, her Sorority Sisters and the life long friends she made there. She loved gardening and planting way too many flowers and tomatoes that dad had to begrudgingly take care of. Her smile was infectious and she was always ready to volunteer her time to her passions. Sybil was active in the Wellington Community League, coaching her boys and their peers in Soccer and, more-so, Fastball on to winning seasons.
Sybil was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 13, 1949. She married Frank on August 31, 1974. Sybil started her professional life as a legal & medical secretary and then for worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs; she then was a stay at home mom, and finally worked as a teacher's aid from 1996 until her retirement in 2015.
Sybil will be remembered for being fun-loving and having a caring demeanour. She had a huge heart & loved her family.
A Celebration of Life for Sybil will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta.
