He leaves behind his sister Jill Moroney, 5 children: Grant Stephen Allen Webster, Loranne Mae Arboleya, Kathryn Alyson Webster, Herbert Arthur Webster, and Diana Susan Hayden, as well as nine grandchildren: Katrina, Nicolas and Krysta Arboleya, Keenan, Carter and Kianna Webster, Stephen Webster and Eric and Kane Shackell.
Stephen was born on May 4th, 1936, and raised in Calgary, AB with his mother Beige, father Herbert and sisters, Ann, Jill and Margaret. He was a much loved only son and the baby of the family.
He joined the PPCLI in the late 1950s and served as a NCO for a number of years in the regular force, spending some time in Germany with the regiment and thoroughly enjoying his time with the Army. After his regular service ended, he joined the Reserves and got his officer's commission. He went on to serve for 30 years. During this time, he worked full time in many different sales jobs predominantly in the oilfield industry.
After retirement, Steve went on to join the Core of Commissionaires and served with them until his Alzheimer's forced him to retire permanently. He was cared for by his wife Joyce Webster who sadly pre-deceased him on November 8th, 2020. At this point his Alzheimer's required him to be cared for full time by qualified nurses and doctors and he entered the Balwin Villa Long Term Care facility.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those involved in Stephen's care over the past couple of years as he declined in his Alzheimer's. All of the staff at Balwin Villa in the units where he was lodged for almost 2 years, and the staff on unit 2B at Villa Caritas who cared for Stephen during his last few months. We all very much appreciate the care and compassion the staff at both places showed to Dad and all of us during his time there.
A Celebration of Life for Stephen will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810 34 Avenue NW, T6E 6L1. Followed by the Interment Ceremony at 3:00p.m. at Northern Lights Cemetery, 15203 - Campbell Road NW. Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in memory of Stephen.
