Ron is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon (née Fuhr); his children, Pamela (Stacy) Radatzke and Shelley; as well as his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Derek (Christine), Logan, Wyatt and Cody. Also left to cherish Ron’s memory are his brother and best friend, Bill (Donna); his sister, Sharon Carlsen; his nieces and great-nephews, Corinne (Karen), Colleen (Greg), Dario and Dante; his former wife and mother to Pamela and Shelley, Betty Carlson; and his wife Sharon’s children and grandchildren, Rick (Gigi), Brad, Breanna (Tyler), Nicholas, Tyler, and Carter.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Danielle and his parents, William and Rose.
Ron grew up and spent most of his life in Edmonton, but travelled the world with his hunting and photography. He shared his love of animals by creating The Children's Educational Wildlife Museum that housed not only his amazing taxidermied animals but also the portraits of many of the people whose lives he touched.
His first love, however, was his family. His adoration, protection, support and nurturing of his family was always ever present.
He was an entrepreneur who never stopped being involved in some new project, especially after retirement. It was a rare day when Ron didn't have his hands busy.
A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Riverbend Lutheran Church, 495 Rhatigan Road East, Edmonton, AB with interment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
In lieu of other tributes, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to Riverbend Lutheran Church or to Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association (AHEIA).
