Bob’s life began in Ontario on March 28, 1943, the first born to William and Donalda Drennan, and older brother to Donald and Mary. Bob’s passion for family came from life on the farm and being in a military family.
Bob met his wife Nancy in Winnipeg in 1963. With a shared passion for family and hockey, they got married on July 1, 1967. Their journey led them through Ontario, Manitoba and eventually to Beaumont where they would raise their three kids and become involved members of the community. Moving to Beaumont was one of the best decisions they ever made. Bob coached minor hockey for years, and was part of the group to bringing the Chiefs and junior hockey to Beaumont. He was an involved parent, attending his kids sporting events, concerts, birthday parties and events – most of which was organized and planned around the hockey schedule.
Although we thought his passion for hockey would be unmatched, Bob developed new passions as his Grandkids arrived. Turns out he has a passion for theater, gymnastics, lacrosse, camping, rugby and anything that allowed him to be involved together with his grandkids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Bill & Donalda, Brother Don, Niece Annabelle. Bob’s legacy lives on through his wife of 56 years Nancy, kids Steven & Keri, Stacey & Gilles (Amyotte), Nathan & Tara, and his fantastic five grandkids, Patrick, Nathan, Janelle, Nicholas, and Matthew who will forever remember the full treat cupboard and his famous greeting – How do you do.
Bob leaves his family to continue his legacy of love, and will be celebrated on December 27th at the Beaumont Community Centre located at 5204- 50 Avenue from 2:00-4:00. In lieu of flowers, please kindly donate to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
