A Letter to our Mom:
Mom,
We want to thank you for all that you have done for us, for your relentless devotion to our well-being and for all of the lessons that you have endowed upon us throughout our lives – perhaps never more so than in the difficult struggle that you so courageously faced in the last six months of your life – to never be callous or indifferent, to be kind and earnest, to love unconditionally with all of our hearts, to never succumb to weakness and to preserve regardless of the obstacles that may be hown in our paths, to soothe suffering with laugher, to live passionately and bravely. Despite these lessons, we ask you to please forgive us today and in the days that follow our surrender to grief and our profound sorrow that you are no longer with us but know that we will face today and each day thereafter with all of that you have so gracefully taught us, with your hands upon our shoulders and your heart in our hearts. We are so very proud to be your children and we will miss you terribly.
“Say not in grief she is no more but live in thankfulness that she was” – Hebrew Proverb
