Mary Elaine Stathis of Edmonton, AB passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at age of 76. She was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Lillian Hawryluk and her loving husband of 55 years, Gus Stathis. Mary is survived by her two children, James (Jamie) Stathis and Petros Efstathiou, daughter-in-law Karen, grandson Yannis Efstathiou, sister Katie Melting-Tallow, brother-in-law Spiros Efstathiou and his wife Houla, sisters-in-law Maria Efstathiou and Alexandra Kontos, her godson and goddaughter, Petros and Theodora Vafinis, and extended family and friends in Canada, USA, and Greece. Mary was born in Drumheller, Alberta in 1943 and was a devoted wife, mother and a committed volunteer for many organizations. She was actively involved with the Landsdowne Community League membership drives and was a Girl Guide leader with the 35th Guides in Landsdowne for many years. Mary also volunteered with several Greek Organizations including her favourite, the Hellenic Dancers, and as secretary for the Hellenic Golden Age Association. She will be missed by many. Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Hainstocks Funeral Home (9810 - 34 Ave).
