On October 18, 2016 Margreth Lovett (nee Friesinger) passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side. She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 54 years Ronald, and will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children Peter (Tammy), Gary (Laurie) and Sonja (Mark), grandchildren Christopher (Amanda), Charissa (Mike), Jason and Shane, four great-grandchildren, sister Anna, sisters-in-law Doris and Rosemarie, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Margreth was born in Jochberg, Austria and lived there until she was eighteen when she moved to London to work as a nanny. There she met the love of her life Ron and they married in 1960. In 1965 they brought their young family to Canada and chose Edmonton to be their new home. Margreth was a dynamic woman; devotedly raising a family while working part-time and still able to pursue her passion for singing when she starred as a yodeller with Ewin’s Alpine Band. Margreth will be remembered as a beautiful, warm, caring woman whose greatest joy was sharing her life with the people she loved; whether it was holiday gatherings at home, touring Canada and the US with the band, or visiting her family in Austria, she always included her family and closest friends to share in those experiences. She is now at peace, reunited with her greatest love Ron.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margreth may be made to the Stollery Children’s Foundation.
