Linda Simmons

July 28, 1956 - February 29, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Louise Simmons announces her passing on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the age of 55 years.

Linda was born on July 28, 1956 in Winnipeg, MB. As a child of a military father, Linda lived across Canada with the more recent years in Morinville and Edmonton. Linda was an insurance Risk Manager and counts many of her colleagues as friends.

Linda is predeceased by her mother, Louise Cecilia Simmons (2011) and father, Edwin (Ted) Simmons (1998). She is survived by her loving sister, Susan Simmons of Morinville, brother Ted Simmons (Sandra) and niece, Cassandra Simmons all of Edmonton, as well as numerous family members throughout Canada. Linda will be achingly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their kindness and care of Linda during her last days. They also extend gratitude to her numerous friends for being with Linda to comfort and care for her during battle to overcome her illness.

A celebration of Linda's life will take place at Memories Funeral Home, 13403-St. Albert Trail, on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at1:00 PM; with Reverend Gary Engler officiating. A private graveside ceremony will take place in the spring to lay Linda and her parents to rest.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Alberta Child Find are welcomed.
