Judith Ann (Judy) Soper Nee Bard

She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Larry of 53 years, sister Lorraine Dowling, and many friends, family and colleagues.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Vern and Margaret Bard.

A close friend, mentor and superintendent of schools, Ruth Borg, spoke of Judy as being, “stunning, tall, slim, smiling, with the most attractive features and figure, and the most outstanding beautiful long blood hair. You did it all well. I can still picture some of your beautiful work suits and heels.

They were always perfect on you. As well Ruth also described her as “A natural leader – I can

picture visiting you in your principalship role. Your school was organized with everything and everyone cared for. Bravo, Judy. I know you faced many issues, but you readily and whole-heartly addressed them. I am proud of you and your efforts, and the professionalism you so ably displayed.”

Judy served as a teacher, a learning style consultant, and principal of several schools in Edmonton Public Schools.

Judy cherished moments at the family cottage, her time spent with many friends, golfing, preparing wonderful meals, and living life to the fullest. As well, her travels to New York Hawaii, San Francisco, Victoria, and especially annual fall trips to Scottdale were an important part of her life.

The family would like to thank the Cross Cancer Institute, Dr, Quincy Chu, Palliative Care, Bayshore Dr. Mark Antoniuk and Dr. Herbert Sacks for their love and support along with Judy’s many wonderful neighbours and friends.

A viewing will be held at Hainstock’s Funeral Home at 9810 – 34 Avenue, Edmonton on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

We look forward to a Celebration of Life for Judy in the future.
