Juanita Dela Cruz Peralta joined the Lord peacefully on November 15, 2020 at the age of 82 years old. "Mama Juaning” as she was fondly called, was born on October 24, 1938 in Agno Pangasinan, Philippines. She became a widow at a young age. She played the role of mother and father at a time when it wasn’t common. Despite these struggles, she has always provided a warm and loving home to her children, Freda, Jun, Hayde, and the late Julius Peralta.
Juanita arrived to Canada on July 17, 1997 and devoted herself in caring and supporting her family. She did this not out of obligation but because of who she was. Always caring and always loving. She was always the first to offer help. Her generosity to her friends and family back in the Philippines has been appreciated by many. She always ensured that every person who crossed her threshold whether or not they asked for help was safe, healthy, and happy. She also became actively involved in the Filipino Retirees Association of Alberta.
All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm and undying love for her family.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Freda and Hayde, her son Federico JR, daughters in law, Marivic and Virgie, son in law, Jimmy, her grandchildren, Kristine (Jojo), Paula (Adrian), Karen (Mike), Ken, Krizzia (Bryan), Mackmack, Salman, Sofia, Marvin, Czarina and Jayden, as well as her great grandchildren, Luis, Kristel, Jordan, Ethan, Sasha, Mikayla, Alessandra, Madison, Leon, Jaxon and Alainah.
We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
we often speak your name.
All we have are memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we will never part.
God has you in His keeping,
we have you in our hearts.
A million times we`ve wanted you.
A million times we cried.
If love could only have saved you,
you never would have died.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
But you didn`t go alone.
For a part of us went with you...
the day God called you Home.
