Hilda Mary White

With nothing but fond memories, it is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother and Nana/Grandma, Hilda Mary White (Chapman), on Sunday November 26, 2023. Hilda will forever be remembered by her children and her grandchildren; Steven (Carolyn - grandchildren Steve and Alexander), Kevin (Charlene - grandchildren Anastasia and Cameron), and Cameron (Kathleen - grandchildren Jessica and Sean).

Hilda is predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Alexander White (May 2, 2023), her brother James (Jimmy) Chapman, and her parents William (Bill) and Cecilia (Cissy) Chapman (all of Aberdeen, Scotland).

Hilda was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on August 15, 1933. She immigrated to Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada in 1970, living many subsequent years in St. Albert, Alberta, and Edmonton, Alberta. Originally a beloved primary school teacher in Aberdeen, Hilda also worked many years as manager/bookkeeper for her husband's medical clinic, and very much enjoyed her years in women's retail clothing sales (Mr. Donovan's). She cherished every moment with all her children and grandchildren, and loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends.

There will not be a public service held for Hilda. A private celebration of life will instead be held with family and friends.

Donations in memory of Hilda can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society in support of her love for dogs specifically, and cherished family pets in general.
