January 5, 1979 ~ March 11, 2012
Our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, friend left us much too soon March 11, 2012. Born January 5, 1979 to Danny and Gwen Hood in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Moved to Fort McMurray, AB in 1980 where she grew up with many wonderful friends. She graduated high school in 1997 and moved to Lethbridge, AB where she attended Lethbridge College and obtained a Diploma in Corrections Studies. She then spent several years living in Yellowknife, NWT working as a corrections officer. She moved to Edmonton in 2009 and has worked at The Salvation Army since.
Heather will always be remembered for having a heart of gold and her infectious laugh; she also had a very no-nonsense approach at times, we all knew to keep a distance if she was upset about something. Her physical absence will be forever felt in our family, but we will honour her memory always, and have so many happy memories to carry with us.
Heather is survived by her loving parents, Danny & Gwen Hood, sister Jaimie (Brett), brother Jonathan, grandparents, Royden & Ethel Piercy, Aunt and Uncle Cheri & Moe Prieur, Uncle Mark Piercy, Uncle Randy (Geri) Hood, Uncle Trent (Lyn) Hood along with several cousins and many friends. She was also a very special person to her two nephews Jordan & Brody who lovingly referred to her as Auntie Herher, and Auntie Heyer respectively.
Heather was pre-deceased by her Grandmother and Grandfather Robert & Kathleen Hood, and Aunt Cheryl Hood. We take peace in thinking they are together now.
A Memorial Service for Heather will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 am at Hainstock's Funeral Home in the chapel. 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6L1.
Donations in Heather's name can be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS)
Much Thanks to our Family and Friends for all of the love and support. Heather would be truly honoured, as we are.
