Frank Weatherly Duncan

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank W. Duncan on February 17, 2020 just hours before his 87th birthday. Dad will be greatly missed by his children David (Laureen), Janice (Stephen), and Lori (Lorentz).

He also leaves grandchildren Joe (Kristy-Ann), Bob (Kristin), Jessica and Joshua and great-grandchildren Jakob, Nathaniel, Harrison and Chloe. He will be missed by other family and friends.

Dad was predeceased by his wife Elsie, parents George Duncan and Marjorie Foster, Elsie’s parents Joseph and Lena Heiner, and sister-in-law Doris Heiner.

He will be lovingly remembered as the gracious caregiver to those around him. Dad had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed conversations with people of all walks of life. He was an avid reader and loved old classic movies.

A special thanks to Dr. Paul Grewal, who was a source we could trust, provided us with strength and wisdom to face Dad’s illness. To the staff of Good Samaritan Southgate, thank you for the love, laughter and the kindness you shared with our Dad.

As Dad requested, a private family celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
