Patricia Ann Prichard was born in Cannon, Delaware on November 29,1929 to Floyd and Mildred Wilson. Her father was a farmer and her mother a homemaker. She had a brother and two sisters. She attended Coffeyville Community College for two years. After some challenging life experiences Patricia was called into the Worldwide Church of God in 1968. It was there that she met her husband Alvin Prichard at the Feast of Tabernacles in 1977. They were married the following year on May 18, 1978. They owned a beautiful two story home with wrap around porch in Kansas. They both loved to do yard work and garden. Patricia also worked as a housekeeper for an older lady nearby.
In the early 90’s they followed the lamp to the Philadelphia Church of God and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma a few years later. Patricia was a dutiful wife taking care of her husband until his death in 2009. His final years were challenging because he suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, yet Patricia cared for him in the most loving of ways. They were married for thirty-one years.
Patricia also extended this loving compassion to her friends. She was known by her friends as their “#1 warrior.” She was given this title due to the intercessory prayer she would offer on their behalf as she found out the challenges of others. If Patricia was praying about your situation, help was on the way. This was one representation of her focus on others, even at times when often she was enduring health difficulties herself. This was a great example of God’s way of give.
She was also a lady of talents. One of her talents was in the area of art. She has a shelf of art supplies in her apartment. These supplies reveal the scars of use. Patricia used these tools to give, painting pictures to give to friends and others.
Patricia Prichard was a active member in her local congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God. She was dedicated to her prayer and study reflecting her focus on her calling. God and his family were #1 in her life. After suffering a stroke and battling a brief illness she died on Monday, October 31. She will be missed but her legacy and art work will endure.
A graveside service for Patricia will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Gracelawn Cemetery, 1407 N. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73034.
