Normand Martin

Normand was born August 14, 1936 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of Frank and Mabel Martin.

Normand graduated from high school (1955) in Drain, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon and Oregon Technical Institute for a short time. Entered the United States Air Force in 1957, honorable discharge in 1961.

Normand was united in marriage to Marolyn Elane Cosby of Buffalo, Oklahoma on June 11, 1961. The couple had one daughter Becky Lynn.

He worked for FAA in Oklahoma City on a temporary basis. The next seventeen years were spent working for Oklahoma City Public Schools in the Data Processing Center.

After graduating from Central State University with a BBA (1972) and an MBA (1976), he started teaching at Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City in the Business/Computer Department. Normand retired from OSU/OKC in 1995. While teaching at OSU/OKC, Normand attended graduate school at OSU Stillwater.

Normand enjoyed traveling and doing things with his wife. He and his wife were avid OSU sports fans. He loved college teaching and continued doing adjunct teach at Langston Urban Center, Rose State College, and University of Central Oklahoma.

Survivors include daughter Becky Lynn, and number of nieces and nephews.

Normand is preceded in death by wife Marolyn on January 7, 2011, parents Frank and Mabel, and brothers Kent Martin of Fountain, Colorado and Darrell Martin of Drain, Oregon

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the American Diabetic Association or the American Heart Association.

A memorial service for Normand will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
