Norma was married to Herb Pexa on September 29, 1985, and together they enjoyed 35 years of married life in their home in Edmond.
Norma worked for the United States Post Office for over 40 years before she retired. She started working nights on the loading docks and worked her way up to clerk at the Downtown Post Office. Over the years, Norma worked at several different postal stations around Oklahoma City.
Norma loved packing up to take trips of any kind, whether it was going to visit her family in Illinois or hitting the road with her husband Herb on their Goldwing motorcycle, going wherever the road took them. She loved going to play the occasional Bingo game with her son Mark and taking her chances at the casino when the mood hit.
Norma also loved watching NASCAR with Herb every time a race was on. No matter how she felt, she always called her son Randy during the race to give him their signature call, which was “BOOGITY, BOOGITY, BOOGITY, LET'S GO RACIN!” which started their race day. Even though they each watched the race in their own homes, the phone rang on and off the entire race with either Norma calling Randy, or vice versa asking, “Did you see that wreck?”, or Norma's personal favorite, “I WISH SOMEONE WOULD PUT HIM IN THE WALL!”
Norma loved her family with all her might and they always knew she was there for them anytime of day or night; for anything they might have needed.
Norma is preceded in death by her father Ivo Wheeler; mother Zula Wheeler; sister Carolyn Labby; and nephew Ronnie Labby.
Norma is survived by her husband Herb of Edmond; two sons Randy Crockett and wife Tammy of Oklahoma City and Mark Crockett of Oklahoma City; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other family; and friends.
Our hearts are broken over losing her, but we know her spirit is free and at rest. We will always remember and love you, Norma.
