She was born October 25, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK to Claude and Nellie Lathrop. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1957.
Nelda served as church pianist at the Capitol Hill Evangelical United Brethren Church from age 12. She accompanied the choirs at Capitol Hill Jr. and Sr. High Schools and played for various choirs and orchestras and at the First Baptist Church in Edmond.
She was married to Keith Wilson in 1957 and married Lloyd Trease in 1986. Nelda was employed at Humpty Supermarkets as a secretary for 18 years before it closed in 1985. She was then employed at Fleming Company for 9 years before retiring in 1995. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Edmond.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Nellie Lathrop; husband, Lloyd Trease; step-son, Randy Trease; and step-granddaughter, Krystle Rogers.
She is survived by her three brothers, Wayne & Virginia Lathrop of Ft. Worth, TX, Richard & Kay Lathrop of Plano, TX, Steve & Glenna Lathrop of Aiken, SC; daughter, Marva & Mike Kissee of McKinney, TX; sons, Doug & Pam Wilson of Edmond, OK, Mike & Cindy Wilson of Grandbury, TX; step-daughters, Sherri & Dan Rogers of Yukon, OK. She had 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was an avid fan of all University of Oklahoma sports and enjoyed following the Sooners throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the PAL's senior tennis group in Edmond.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Boys Ranch Town in Edmond or the Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home.
Her memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at First Baptist Church Of Edmond located at 1300 E 33rd St, Edmond, Oklahoma 73013.
