Jerry M. Deibel of Edmond passed peacefully on November 12th, 2022. He was born on August 4th, 1936 in Ponca City - the third of six children to Louis and Irma Deibel - all of whom preceded him in death. Upon being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he earned several higher education degrees which culminated in a doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
Never one to sit idle, after working numerous years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, he retired the first time to open Rehabilitation Services Associates (R.S.A.) with one of his colleagues. Upon his second retirement from R.S.A., he worked several more years as a university professor. Upon his third retirement from Langston University (OKC) at age 74, he enjoyed serving his community in various volunteer capacities and being “Papa” to his granddaughter, Aiden.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lynda, daughter and son-in-law, Justin and Errin Coffelt, granddaughter, Aiden Coffelt, brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Beverly Hutcheson, nephew Raymond L. Wulf, and many other family members.
A memorial service for Jerry December will be held December 10, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Southern Hills Christian Church, 3207 S. Boulevard Edmond, OK 73013
