Jim graduated from Edmond Memorial High School class of 1966. He attended Central State University and served in the National Guard; until he was kicked out for… well, for being Jim Roads.
If you ever met Jim, aka Dusty Roads, you would never forget him. Jim Roads lived his life on his own terms.
Jim grew up and spent his life in Edmond and Logan County. He enjoyed a long career in the residential and commercial construction business, concentrating mostly on remodeling. Jim’s true passions were hunting, fishing, and running his dogs. Jim loved life and his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life, Stephanie Long; as well as his “favorite ex” and mother of his children, Linda Samara Lynch; sons: Patrick Billen and wife Michelle, Chuck Billen and wife Priscilla, Jeff Roads, and Ryan Flaten; daughters: Jordan Detjen, Treka Wenner and husband Tim, Rachel Flaten, and Rebecca Flaten; grandchildren: Nate Billen, Jonathan Wenner, Tyson Roads, James Billen, Mateo Billen, Anton Detjen, and Wyatt Detjen; and many, many friends too numerous to mention.
