Iva was born to Charles and Ada Cartmill in Edmond, OK on January 24, 1920 with her twin sister, Viva Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil; father Charles Cartmill; mother Ada Cartmill; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Sherri; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed watching her TV shows, playing kitchen and tea party games with her great granddaughter, Kyleigh Michelle, and of course making her cookies and coffee every day. We will always remember her and her twin sister, Viva, matching everywhere they went. Whether it was to get their hair done the same, go to church, or go play cards with their friends. She was always a lively soul and loved to make jokes and laugh with her loved ones. She most enjoyed all her grandchildren and great grandchildren coming over for holidays, baking special treats, and telling them story after story while rocking them in her rocking chair.
She will be greatly missed by so many more than mentioned. She made such an impact on each life she touched and will be remembered always for her jokes, laugh, and brightening smile.
Iva will be laid to rest during a private service at Whisler Cemetery, Edmond among many of her family members. The family suggests anyone wanting to send flowers, instead buy and plant them at your own home to always remember Iva and how much she loved smelling the roses each day.
