Gloria Jean Turner was born in Sapulpa, OK and graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1970. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was active in voice & dance and was an accomplished pianist.
Gloria married Terry Turner in May 1974. They had two sons. Joshua was born November 14, 1978 and Jacob was born August 8, 1987. Gloria homeschooled her sons until they entered high school.
Gloria worked at the Edmond library for over a decade. She truly enjoyed her time there and made many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lorraine Maynard. She is survived by her husband; two sons; 8 grandchildren; father, George Maynard; sisters, Cheryl Terrell and Donna Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
