DOYLE DEAN TACKETT DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2014 AFTER A SHORT STAY IN THE HOSPITAL. HE WAS BORN ON APRIL 18, 1934 TO CARL DEAN AND EMMA NORA TACKETT IN ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA. DOYLE WORKED MOST OF HIS LIFE AS A FIELD ENGINEER FOR AN EASTERN MANUFACTURER OF COMMERCIAL PROCESSING EQUIPMENT USED IN PAPER MILLS, WATER PURIFICATION, WATER SANITATION, CHEMICAL PLANTS, GOLD, SILVER AND COPPER MINES, TRAVELING THE WORLD TO PLACES LIKE PERU, SOUTH KOREA, AND ISRAEL. HE LED A VERY INTERESTING LIFE AND HAD MANY GOOD STORIES TO SHARE. IN 1988, HE FORMED HIS OWN COMPANY, TRESCO, AND STARTED DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINLY FOR PAPER MILLS IN HIS SHOP IN EDMOND, OK. DOYLE HAD SERVED IN THE NAVY, BEEN A FIREMAN, AND A HOME/COMMERCIAL BUILDER. RETIREMENT ALLOWED HIM THE CHANCE TO CONTINUE BUILDING AND WAS A SELF TAUGHT BUILDER OF BEAUTIFUL VIOLINS THAT WERE USED TO PLAY HIS FAVORITE MUSIC-WESTERN SWING AND BLUEGRASS. HE WAS CREATIVE, COULD BUILD OR FIX ANYTHING. HE ATTRIBUTED ALL THAT HE KNEW AS THINGS HE LEARNED FROM HIS FATHER. HE LOVED HIS CHILDREN AND WOULD DO WHATEVER HE COULD TO HELP THEM. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, ANITA TACKETT OF THE HOME. HIS SON DARRELL TACKETT, HOUSTON, TX, DAUGHTERS, HOKULANI PRITCHETT, PROVO, UTAH, DOYA COLE, BETHANY,OK, DENA STRAUSS, EDMOND,OK AND THEIR SPOUSES. STEP-SONS, SCOTT PARKER, ARNETT,OK, CHUCK PARKER, CHARLOTTE, N.C., AND BEN PARKER, VENICE, CA. GRANDCHILDREN, SARA TACKETT, CODY DEAN COLE, ALLISON COLE, JOSIAH STRAUSS, MICAH STRAUSS, ELYSIA STRAUSS, AMANDA PARKER, JESSICA EWELL, CHARLES PARKER, AND LAURA PARKER. GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, AVA MITCHELL, AUSTIN PARKER, CALEB EWELL AND LEAH EWELL. ALL LOVED HIM DEARLY. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS BROTHER, KENNETH TACKETT AND HIS WIFE BETSY, ARDMORE, OK AND MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS. MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR DOYLE WILL BE SEPTEMBER 13, 2014 AT 11:00 A. M. AT BAGGERLEY FUNERAL HOME, 930 S. BROADWAY, EDMOND, OK 73034. INTERMENT WILL BE IN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SERVICE. DRESS IS BACKYARD CASUAL. PLEASE BRING A YARD CHAIR FOR THE BARBEQUE. WE WILL HAVE ABOUT 35 CHAIRS SO IF THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE-COME ANYWAY.
