Donna Smith

Donna Smith, 58, of Arcadia, Oklahoma, departed this Earth on Friday, January 5, 2018. Born in Omak, Washington on August 29, 1959 to Kenneth E. Smith and Bessie Young and later raised by her father and his second wife, Geneva Woodruff, Donna grew up and excelled in academics, basketball, and friendships in the rural town of Gould, Oklahoma. She graduated from Gould High School in 1977 and pursued a degree in Business from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Shortly thereafter, she began her long career in the banking/finance sector with positions for FDIC and National Loan Investors and eventually becoming a business owner of H&S Investment Associates.

Donna married her soulmate, Ken Twibell, in a beautiful ceremony at the Round Barn in Arcadia on Valentine’s Day, 1999. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and supporter of Luther Public Schools where her neice, GiGi, attended.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dean; sister, Marietta; and her furry, four-legged love, Billy Ray. She was survived by her husband, Ken; son, Justin Flaming, daughter-in-law, Kristin, and granddaughter, Jaylee; brothers Kenneth, Don, Steve and their spouses and children; sister Brandi and niece Gigi; in-laws Sid and Deann Twibell, Lajo Koehler, Chuck and Kathy Twibell and children; and numerous other loved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends.

Donna filled her short life with joy, laughter, and kindness. She had a heart like no other and a selfless spirit who loved to bring people together. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be handled by Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, Oklahoma. A public viewing is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Family will be available at the viewing from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be officiated by Glenda Stansbury on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Donna will be cremated per her wishes.
