Charles (Tuna) Wayne Freshour left this world on September 21, 2023 at the age of 62. His battle with a serious medical condition for years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. He was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.
Charles was born to Barbara and Charles Freshour on August 27, 1961. After graduating from Edmond Memorial High School in 1979, Charles attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond earning a degree in Biology Chemistry. Charles spent many years working for DEQ, OBI and Avara using his degree earned. He also operated a forklift at Sam's Club for a number of years.
Charles loved to play the guitar and worshiped the band RUSH. He learned to play all their songs and would try to emulate the voice of lead singer. He taught many of his friends how to play and loved that experience. He was an avid coin and gun collector. Charles learned to Fence which he enjoyed participating in competition. He enjoyed going to Lake Hiwassee to fish. As a young child, Charles loved living near the Edmond Train Tracks and learned a lot about trains. He built himself a train board and operated HO scale trains.
Charles was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and Grandparents.
Charles leaves behind his siblings Cynthia Shackelford, Carol Cain and Walter Freshour. Charles adored his nieces and nephews, not having any children of his own. He leaves behind 14 Nieces and 12 Nephews.
Charles will be honored at a Graveside Service which is pending.
