Billie J. Van Nostrand

Billie was raised on her family ranch north of Mutual, OK. There she attended school in Mutual. In 1951, her family moved to Woodard, OK.

Billie graduated from Woodward High School and Stevens Finishing School in Missouri. She was a member of the Queen Esther Chapter of Woodward for many years and was also a member of the PEO Chapter in Guthrie.

Billie married RC Van Nostrand on June 13, 1953 and began her 68-year union with him in Woodward. With the birth of their two sons, Russell and Sam, she quickly became a great homemaker, ensuring that her family was always taken care of at every turn. She loved to cook, spend time with her family, and keep her home a happy place for all.

Billie was a people pleaser. She never stopped trying to serve everyone around her. No matter what your problem may be, she would try to shoulder your burden as best she could. She was truly a giving, caring woman who was happiest when she was able to do anything for anyone; anytime, anywhere.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ruth Ellington, and husband, RC. She is survived by her sons, Sam of Kenai, Alaska, and Russell and wife Marsha of Enid, OK; two grandchildren, Abbie Wasson and husband Jeff and Christy Hay and husband Rick of Woodward; two great-grandchildren, Zane and Luke; and many other family members and friends.

Billie’s light shone brightly for 89+ years as God almighty blessed her in so many ways. She will be greatly missed.
