Bill attended the University of Oklahoma before completing dental school at the University of Nebraska. His military service included a Navy tour of duty on the USS Repose during the Vietnam War, followed by activation of his Army Reserve unit during Desert Storm. He dedicated much of his career to the Veterans Administration, serving in multiple clinics across the country before settling his family in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1980, where he was the lead dentist for almost 30 years.
The son of a proud Pearl Harbor survivor, Bill's legacy of resilience and commitment to service touched the lives of many. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; his sister, Sarah of Houston, TX; and his two sons, Mark of Harrah, OK, and David (Jennifer) of Dallas, TX. Bill's legacy continues through his three grandchildren: Laura, who resides in Geneva, Switzerland; Blake of Tulsa, OK; and Taylor, a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He cherished many other family members and friends across the country.
An avid swimmer and tennis player for decades, Bill also enjoyed following OU and Nebraska football, passionately supporting his teams throughout his life. He also enjoyed attending Church and Sunday school services with Carol…because that’s what made her happy.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10AM at Baggerly Funeral Home (930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bill’s honor.
