Betty Joan Brinkmeyer died peacefully Wednesday morning, October 14 surrounded by her loving children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Brink (Leon). She was born March 5, 1931 in Independence, Kansas to Henry and Alice Tobaben. Survivors include her three children, Mark Brinkmeyer, Mindy (Les) Bergh and Greg Brinkmeyer, two grandchildren Angie (Revel) Kidd and Bobby (Malinda) Brinkmeyer and seven great-grandkids: Kristen, Madison, Kelsi, Mallory, Lakyn, Spencer and Colby.
She will always be remembered with a smile on her face and a great love of life. Betty was an artist and participated in several local art shows in the OKC area. She especially loved painting and collecting clowns. She would never miss a Ringling Brothers Circus so she could see all her “clown friends”. She has been honored to be called a Clown in Street Clothing and has been given a special name – The Giver!
She was also an active member of the Lutheran Church all her life. That belief and faith sustained her throughout the years. Words can never express the gratitude to all who served at Concordia Nursing and Good Shepard Hospice. What a privilege and honor to know you all.
Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember with tears then don’t remember me at all.
Services with be Monday October 18 at St Mark Lutheran Church in Edmond, OK at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St Mark Lutheran Church in Edmond, OK.
