Born in Morristown, NJ; she was a daughter of the late Luther E. and Margaret (O’Grady) Young and graduated from Morristown High School and retired from the Morris Township Municipal Building, where she worked as a secretary for 35 years.
Lillian attended St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg. She was past President of the Woodland Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary of Morris Township, NJ; past President of the Morris Township Senior Citizens Club, Morris Township, NJ; and volunteered at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ; Lillian loved to play Skipo and enjoyed spending time with all of her family.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, John E. Gearhart, who passed away on November 24, 1977 and a sister, Virginia Lucia.
Surviving is her husband of 15 years Richard Taylor; five children, John Gearhart, Theodore Gearhart, Linda Schnatter, Kathy Walls, and Daniel Gearhart, 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:30 in St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Ave., East Stroudsburg, with Monsignor John A. Bergamo Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. Matthews Church from 10:30 A.M. till the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 412 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
