Joan Ann Tuthill

Joan was born on August 29th 1932 in Dupont, PA, to Arch and Mae VanLuvender, as one of 14 children - several of whom have since passed away. She is survived by her sisters, Gloria, Carol, Wilma, Gladys and Dot.

Joan was the mother of six children, two of whom had passed away previously – Julie Zecchini and Gail Cunningham. She is survived by the remaining children – Gary Delicati, Janet Gidley, Jody Singer and Lisa Cicconi; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was previously married to the late Jerry Delicati, early on in her life.

Joan was a local country singer in her early life, singing on stage with a band and performing throughout the northeast region.

She later gave her life to the Lord and devoted her abilities to helping those in need and those seeking friendship and support. She played guitar and sang at Pleasant Valley Manor, Laurel Manor and several other assisted living facilities throughout the local area for many years, and would sit and talk to the residents and assist them if able, while she was visiting. She tirelessly helped the poor and destitute over the years and remained deeply committed in her beliefs and convictions and always helped, even to her own expense. She taught her children how to be of good service, and to selflessly help others, and to be good, strong individuals.

If you got to meet Joan, you would know. She would greet you with a genuine smile and show you kindness and love. Never a harsh word left her lips and living for Jesus was her life’s calling.

There will be a viewing at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 from 12 until 2 pm preceded immediately by the funeral service officiated by Pastor Lynda Keefer of the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church on N. 5th Street in Stroudsburg, at 2 pm, after which Joan will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Monroe County, PA.
