Amy J. McDermott

Born December 29, 1956 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Doris (Westman) Meisner.

Amy worked in the Special Education Department at the East Stroudsburg School District and Volunteered with the Special Olympics, retired after 25 years. She loved to travel, some of her favorite destinations were Key West, Hawaii and Manasquan Beach, NJ were she would spend time with her entire family.

In addition to her husband, William those left to cherish her memory include daughters; Briana Iaconetti and husband Matthew of Maryland, Shannan Ierovante and husband Ben of Cresco: son; Kristopher Gerhard and wife Brittany of South Carolina: stepdaughter; Erin Fisher and husband Jon of Stroudsburg: stepson; Sean McDermott and Jennifer of Bethel, PA: sisters; Lynn Gronbech and husband Eric of Illinois and Nancy Anne Montero and husband Fred of New York: grandchildren; Lyla, Madeline, Ginger, Jason, Justin and Emilia and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 2pm-5pm at Kalahari Resorts Convention center in the Zambezi and Nile rooms.

In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made in honor of Amy to the Special Olympics.
