William George Rowell

William George “Bill” Rowell, age 84, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1930 in Chattanooga to the late James Robert & Lucy Pauline Rowell.

Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Rowell; sister, Marian Carr; and brother-in-law, Jim Pagalino.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dr. Esperanza Rowell; daughters, Maria (Darrel) Silvey, Theresa (Karl) Reddick, and Diana (Sean) Meadows all of Chattanooga; son; Bob (Peggie) Rowell of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Natalie (Kyle) Honkonen, Valerie Duke, Jonathan Turl, Rachel Turl, Samantha Turl, Joseph Reddick, Loukas Meadows, and Theou Meadows; sisters, Jesslyn (Joe) McClure and Bobby Jean (Donald) King of Chattanooga; Marlene Pagalino of Rossville; sister-in-law, Mildred Rowell of Ft. Oglethorpe; and brother-in-law, John Carr of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the East Chapel with Rev. Todd Plain officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
