Sam grew up in Chattanooga Valley Flintstone, GA. He graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School and later began a career in the trucking industry. He served in that capacity for 38 years and made friends everywhere he went. His love for people was exhibited throughout his career.
Sam was a dedicated Christian man that loved serving as deacon and in other areas at Abba’s House. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed his family. His wife of 37 years, Baby Doll, was the love of his life. Being Dad and Papaw was his greatest joy in life. He was an avid ball fan especially when Georgia Tech was playing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gladdis Bryant, two sisters, Martha Greene and Joyce Dobbs, twin brother, Dan Bryant, and a grandson, Bradley Nida.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Eidson) Bryant; children, Diedre (Terry) Nida, Marlyn (Mickey) Robinson, Doug (Diana) Bryant, and Trey Lewallen. Sam was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Maynor and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Kindred Hospice, Lauren Kirk, and Norma Brinkle for their love and support. Thank you for standing beside us during some of the most difficult days of our lives. You are forever family! A special thank you to family and friends that supported us through the years. We could not have completed this journey without you.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Lakewood Memory Gardens South with Dr. Ronnie Phillips, Jr. and Rev. Sean Landis officiating.
