Richard was born October 25, 1943 to the late, Edith Green here in Chattanooga. He moved away during high school and attended DeVry College. He served his country for a brief time in the United States Air Force, but was sidelined with a medical issue that forced his honorable discharge from the service. After the service he began a career in Radio and TV Cable advertising that would span several years and include working for places such as Channel 3 and Channel 9 in Chattanooga. Richard was also Vice President of Commercial Cable Inc., a company that pioneered cable advertising in the early 1980’s. He even did some radio in Dalton, Ga. Richard worked as an Advertising Executive for Lovemans. Some of his hobbies were snow skiing (which he was really good at) and playing the guitar (even played with a band known as "Galaxy”) But most importantly Richard was a loving husband, father and a Christian.
Richard was preceded in death by his aforementioned mother.
