Mary Ann Doremus Cooke, 86, of Ringgold, GA passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 in a local hospital. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher working with the beginners and primaries for several years. She retired in 2001 from Boynton Elementary School as Cafeteria Manager and had been a Cub Scout den mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cooke, her parents, Henry and Iva Easterly Doremus and five siblings.
Survivors include two sons, David (Kathy) Cooke and Mike (Brenda) Cooke, both of Ringgold, GA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob (Patsy) Doremus of Chattanooga; one sister, Josephine Mayberry of Hixson, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Scotty Marcum officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday, 2-8 PM Thursday and from 1 – 2:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Joy or to Worldwide Faith Missions of Highland Park Baptist Church.
