Margaret Thomas Liggett Cope, 91 of Chattanooga, TN., was born in Miami, Fl., and moved here when she was six or seven years of age. Her father opened Liggett’s Ice Cream Store where she helped out as a young woman. Margaret was a graduate of City High School. She met her husband Luther Marvin Cope at church. They were wed on June 17, 1951. She and Luther moved to Memphis for a short period of time while he attended dental school. She was a volunteer church librarian for over 40 years at Ridgeview Baptist Church and a member of the church for over 52 years. Upon moving in with her daughter she attended Ooltewah Baptist Church for the last nine years. Margaret loved to support her favorite charities, loved her family and her church.
