Lundy William Lovelace, 82, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday January 3, 2018 at his home. He was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, Past President of the Chancil Choir, a member of the Morgan Sunday School Class and had been very active with mission trips. Lundy attended the University of Chattanooga where he was a cheerleader and was a graduate of Tennessee Weslyan College. A veteran of the US Air Force, he was retired after 30 years of service with Planters/Lifesavers. He volunteered with the Chattanooga Food Bank, was on the Steering Committee with the Grateful Gobbler Walk and a CADAS Board Member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman E. and Ida Mae Lundy Lovelace.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Bice Lovelace; children, John Robert Rodman, III (April), Edward Russell Lovelace (Deanna), Christa Johnson (Jay) and Julia Elizabeth Cope (Chris); several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Mae McMahan; brother, David H. Lovelace (Claire); several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday at First Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. Doug Fairbanks, Dr. Linda McDaniel and Dr. David Harr officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 1 PM Monday at the church.
