She was Mom to almost everyone who knew her. She was born on July 11, 1939 in Obion Co, TN. She started her first job at the age of 16, working at the Woolworth’s food counter while still in high school. She loved to work and even at 81 years of age was working 4 days prior to her passing.
She was married to Philip W. Harrison for 62 years. Together they raised a son, B Scott Harrison (married to Tami) and a daughter, Susie Harrison Given (married to Craig). She constantly loved on 4 grandchildren, Mandie Burris (Adam), Brandon Harrison, Kari Carver (Ariyel) and Harrison Given; 5 great grandchildren, Emilie, Scottie, Isaac, Lydia, and little Jesse arriving soon in January.
Along with her job as an administrative assistant at Suntrust Bank for over 24 years, her time and love was spent on family activities, sewing, reading and singing. She was a regular member of Highland Park Baptist Church and sang in the choir and volunteered there for many years prior to joining Ridgedale Baptist Church. She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh and generous giving.
She was preceded in death by her father, EA Nipp, and her mother, Winnie Nipp.
She is survived by her husband, Philip, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brother Ralph Nipp, sister, Joyce Johnson and many loving and devoted cousins, nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 1:30 pm in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 6, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel and also at 3:00 pm at Ridgedale Baptist Church prior to the memorial service.
