Very sad to hear of Uncle Ken passing.  He was a wonderful man and my Pappaw's baby brother.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Mildred and family.  Love and miss you.

Hearing of Uncle Ken's passing brought sadness to my heart and the thoughts of losing the last of my dad's (Jack Brewster) brothers and sisters will leave forever a void in my life. One thing I'm sure of is that now Uncle Ken and dad are together again along with their family in the presence of the King.  Thank you for all the memories which will live on forever.

Today marks the absence of a man I loved very much. A man who taught me many things from how to build a fire to how to split and stack firewood. But as useful as those things will be to me in the long run the most important thing he taught me was about having faith. Mr.B was a man that loved God with every fiber of his being. Never will I forget him praying for us at his birthday party two weeks ago. I can still hear him uttering those words in my head. To a man that went through a lot in 88 years glorifying God was what it was all about. I remember praying with him over dinner in hunting camp for the first time in Sleepy Hollow. And it's hard to forget scouring camp for twigs with Cody when he was teaching us how to build a campfire in the firepit for the first time. (Just in case you are reading this and have never built a campfire with Mr.B it takes a lot of twigs to build a campfire and then kindling and newspaper, but mostly twigs) I can also remember him bringing Sheba for the first time and being completely amazed at him being able to call her anywhere if she roamed off by clapping his hands twice and yelling her name.  He also happened to be the best Rummy player I've ever met. Not once in at least ten years did I ever beat Mr.B at a game of Rummy much less a hand. I've got a lot of memories of being with him, all of them great, far too many to put here. Not to mention it's hard to capture all of them and put them into words without losing the magic of the moments with a wonderful man. 
 
I went through a Bible Study a few weeks ago on Suffering and the Gospel.  This was one of the verses that was gone over and to be honest Mr.B exemplified this.
 
"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."-2 Corinthians 4:16-18
 
Walked into church tonight wondering just what it was going to be like come hunting season and not having Mr.B there. Walked out tonight to 6 doe eating on the hill behind the Church and grinned. God's way of reminding me that as hard as it's going to be that he is sovereign and things are going to be okay.  I will miss Mr.B but he's not gone. One of these days I will be able to stand  and worship at the feet of the One who saved me with a man He used to to teach me about faith and strength in suffering.  
 
Until that day I will glorify the One who saved me and hope that my life will be even the slightest fraction of an example of what a real relationship and walk with God is as Mr. B's was.

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Ken!  Sorry I cannot be there with you , but my love and prayers are with all the family at this time of sorry!  I will never foregt how good he was to mother and how much mother loved him.
