June Rose Lackey, 78, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2020 after a brave fight against Alzheimer’s. She was born on June 30, 1941, and attended Tyner High School and East Ridge Baptist Church. She worked for many years caring for children in her home, and retired from Morrison’s/Picadilly Cafeteria after more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Garner Gray, mother, Romie Louise Gray, brothers, Carl Gray, Johnny Gray and Joseph Gray, and sister Glenda Zinna. She is survived by daughters Ronda (Scott) Bragg, Brenda (Mark) Mitchell, and Jaime (Jeremy) Barrett. She took great joy in her grandchildren, Christopher Lyda, Matthew (Shanyelle) Lyda, Erica (Josh) Hughes, Justine (John) Heath, Jacob & Jeremy Evatt and Parker, Delaney, Levi & Isaac Barrett; her siblings Mary Holloway, Jane (Buddy) Clark, Teresa (Melvin) Hilton; numerous nieces and nephews, and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel. Plans for a memorial service are to be determined. Special thanks to neighbors Randy & Missy Turner and caregiver Ruby Byrd.
