Janet Patricia Burgett Monroe

Mom was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, a place she adored, along with her sisters Gen and Jane and her parents Albert and Winifred Burgett. She became a Christian as a teenager at a Youth for Christ Rally. Moving on to college, she spotted a dungaree-wearing young man named Bob from Florida. She fell in love and married him in 1956. Together they lived in Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Georgia while raising three girls and working on college campuses. She retired as secretary to the president at Covenant College, an institution they both treasured.

Today, we rejoice that Mom is with her Savior, Jesus Christ and her husband of 66 years, Robert Carson Monroe, yet mourn our immense loss. Mom shared her simple wisdom with each family member. She loved so well and we ache to know we cannot hug her cute little self anymore. She was and always will be our selfless, sweet, wonderful mother, mother in-law, Grammi and aunt.

Pat is survived by her daughters Tami (David) Lower, Lori (Richard) Krabbendam, Sheri (Craig) Bouvier, her five grandchildren, Aften (Aaron) Wieldraayer, Carson Whitmore, Payton Lower, Eli Bouvier and Aubrey Bouvier and several nieces and nephews.

A private, family ceremony will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Covenant College, 14049 Scenic Hwy, Lookout Mtn GA 30750.
