Gayle Kincaid Cunningham, 78, of Harrison, TN., went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday February 16, 2021. She was born in Nashville, TN., to the late, John Francis and Josephine Elizabeth Kincaid on September 15, 1942. Gayle was a highly educated woman, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and continuing her post graduate studies at Vanderbilt University.
Some of Gayle’s favorite hobbies were gardening and sewing. She helped with humanitarian efforts in Guatemala by teaching sewing.
Gayle held various teaching positions in and around Chattanooga. She taught at Notre Dame High School in the late 70’s, she was a member of the Adjunct faculty at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for over 25 years. She also tutored math and sciences in the Athletics Department at UTC for many years.
She was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was a member of the Ruritan Women’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents.
Left behind to cherish Gayle’s memory are her loving husband, James R. Cunningham, her sons, Sean Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, Kevin Cunningham, and Colin Cunningham, and a brother, Joseph D. Kincaid, a niece, Dana Kincaid, and a nephew, Jason Kincaid, and 13 grandchildren.
