Doris Collins, 94, of Rossville, GA., passed away on February 9, 2019. She was born in Sparta, Tennessee on February 24, 1924 to Ray Horton and Stella Mae Morgan. Doris was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church for 38 years, and more recently to South Seminole Baptist. She and her husband were involved in many ministries. She was an avid golfer and played until she was 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Burton Collins, and her son, Daniel Lee Collins, her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her sons, James R. Collins (Sue), Joseph S. Collins (Beverleigh), and daughter, Teena C. Hill (Don), and a sister, Nan Million, 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday February 15, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. She will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
