I am so saddened to learn of Bobby's death. He was an icon and so loved by all. He will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to have read that Bobby has passed. I was just in town last year and thought about dropping by the station to say hello.  He was such an integral part of the Chattanooga community. I grew up remembering Parker´s as a reference and a friend of the family. We always took our cars there (right after grabbing an ice cream cone at Kay´s Kastle close by).  We all will miss him dearly and I wish only the very best for his family and wife.

When Micky and I moved to Chattanooga in 2016, we asked Micky's Mom where to take our cars for service.  She said call Bobby, and gave me his number.  Since then, Micky and I have become regular customers at Parker's Citgo and have become friends with Bobby, Lee Ann, and everyone there.  Not only did Bobby welcome us and our normal cars, he took on regular service and even repairs to our odd cars, including a Lotus, an Alfa Romeo, and a very unusual Ford SVT Contour.  As a "car guy," I'm often asked where someone should take their car for service or repair, I have always said Parker's Citgo.  Bobby and his crew set a high standard for quality service, something I respect.  While I will miss hearing "Hi Mike" when I open the door to the office, I look forward to seeing Lee Ann, Billy, Wayne, Larry, Mike, Thomas, Ryan and Colin when I take my cars to them for service, although it will be difficult not to shed a tear.

We are saddened to learn of Bobby’s home going, but rejoice that he is with our Lord and Savior and no longer in pain. Praying for His precious wife , Lee Ann and his work family. We have always been treated right by Bobby and he always had kind words for everyone. We will miss seeing him and his smile even when he was in pain. May God grant Lee Ann the strength and peace during this difficult time. Love you in and because of Christ.

I remember my grandpa Oliver Brown taking me with him to Bobby's.  He only trusted Bobby to work on his car. After my grandpa passed I always went to Bobby. So did my mom, dad and other family members.  He was truly amazing.  Not only was he an amazing mechanic,  but he really did make you feel like family. His smile was contagious. People like Bobby are one in a million for sure. My sincere condolences 🙏and prayers for the family and LeAnn.

I worked for Bobby Parker in the summer of 1990 as a full service attendant. He was a wonderful boss to work for and the whole crew was a joy to be around.  I learned so much about auto maintenance, customer service and relationship building from Mr. Parker.  I am so thankful that I stopped by the shop last April and had a wonderful reminiscing talk with Bobby and Lee Ann.  I greatly appreciate the friendship, kindness and grace that Bobby has shown my family over the past 40+ years.  Today I am an aircraft mechanic, Rotarian,  city councilman, Deacon and non-profit board chairman because of the influence on my character and in my life by men like Bobby Parker.  I am forever grateful!

Bobby will be greatly missed, I always enjoyed laughing with Bobby and Wayne, whenever I stopped in  it  is like visiting with ole friends! I will miss Bobby as I am sure all his customers will.  Truely, Lisa Howard

Haven't seen Bobby in recent years, but my encounters with Bobby back in the days when I saw him often are way too numerous to mention.  But here's one:
It was getting toward evening and I was driving somewhere in South Brainerd when I hit a pothole so hard it crinkled the rim of my left front tire.  I got out and looked and got back into the car and drove a short distant to Bobby's station on Brainerd Rd.  The sun was down and Bobby was standing in the lot.
I pulled up in front of Bobby, rolled down the window and he said, "Hey, Dave."  I pointed and said, "Bobby, I just hit a pothole so hard it bent the rim of my tire."  Bobby looked down at the tire and said nothing.  He walked into one of the station bays and walked back out with a short-handled sledge hammer.  He turned his back toward the tire so he could get an angle on it and gave it a single hard blow with the sledge hammer.  He then turned, looked down at it and said, "Cain't hardly tell it, Dave."  I just said, "Thanks a lot, Bobby.  You're the greatest!"  Bobby raised a hand to me and I moved on.  
He was always there when you needed him.  Now he's not.  How sad.  Knowing him was a privilege. God bless you, LeeAnn.  God bless Bobby Parker.

Lee Ann, I am so sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. My heart goes out to you. He was such a wonderfully kind and generous human being. There were times in my life when I don't know how I would have made it without Bobby and his crew. They always patched my car up and kept me going, when I was living on a small salary just trying to pay the monthly bills. Then when mother had Alzheimers he would come, no questions asked, or send someone to disengage her car as she was still trying to drive. He no doubt helped avert many a crisis and would not let me pay him. I am forever grateful to him, you, and your Citgo family. I know his crown in heaven has many jewels.  Godspeed Bobby Parker.

My name is Carol Lumpkin.  Bobby took care of my family’s vehicle repairs for over 30 years.  He was always kind and friendly. But. above all reliable and honest. We knew we could depend on him.  I loved his sense of humor.  My husband passed away last year and Bobby went out of his way to help me. He was a fine man.  He will be missed and remembered by many many people. I send my heart felt condolences to LeeAnn, all of his family, coworkers and friends who loved him. Hold tight to sweet memories. I am sure there are many.

Each one of you is family to us.  We are heartbroken to lose sweet Bobby, and our hearts are with you, and our prayers always include you.  We are so grateful to have known Bobby for so many years!
He always managed to make our lives so much better and less stressful because of his cheery attitude and wonderful friendship and top-notch service. He will be remembered forever, and will always be a bright spot of sunshine in our hearts and minds when we think of him.

Lee Anne, I was so very sorry to hear of Bobby's passing.  My mother loved him and he was always so kind to her, never failing to help her or chat with her.  Please take comfort in knowing that he was loved by many people.

My mother would go no where else  for gas except Wilhoit’s Gulf on McCallie for years and we lived up on Hwy 58. I grew up idolizing Bobby and even though he was 7 years older than me, I wanted to be just like him. After he took over the business and moved it, he became my friend and mentor especially as it dealt with all things Rotary. He sponsored me into Rotary and helped me grow not only in Rotary but in many other ways. He was a true gentleman and friend to many. He and Lee Ann were a special power couple because they placed others above themselves. I am extremely saddened by Bobby’s passing but I am profoundly grateful that I had the opportunity to become his friend. Our condolences to Lee Ann and the entire family. Bobby will be missed.

To have known Bobby was an absolute gift. I always knew that he could always fix it! For so many years he has helped my Family with our automobiles. You always knew you could go in the shop and get a bill or sarcastic joke. I am so thankful to have known him for the last 10 years. His love for people and his love for his career is what has made a lasting impact. He will truly be missed, but I know that I’ll be able to take a ride and his golden Camaro in heaven our thoughts and prayers are with the Parker family.

Our family is saddened to hear of Bobby’s crossing. He was a wonderful and genuine person that always had a smile and kind words. He will be greatly missed. We pray God give the family grace in this difficult time.

Bobby was always so nice and very comical.  He was my mechanic since I was in college; he would send their truck to pick up my cars when they stopped.  If I needed a ride to get my car he would send someone to get me.  He would fix my car when I was in college and say pay me when you can, I always made sure I paid him because he was so nice and kind to me.  When I got married he made my husband's feel welcome; he made and treated everyone like family.  He will be missed but God loved him best and took him home to suffer no more.  We love you Bobby and will be seeing YOU again when GOD calls us home.  We love YOU too Lee Ann and if YOU need us any time call us now it's time to take care of YOU just as well as YOU took care of BOBBY.

I am so sorry to hear about Bobby.  He was always so kind to me and my family.  He will be greatly missed by us.  I am praying for you and your family.

Rest in peace Bobby. God bless your family. From early childhood living in  East Ridge  in the 1970s I can still recall with gratitude how gracious Bobby was to three generations of my family. It is with sadness and appreciation that we send our heartfelt condolences to the Parker family.
