She was born Jan. 29, 1931 in Galesburg to Hugh and Mary (Davis) Terpening. She first married John Groom and later married Charles Allison on Jan 28, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV. He passed away June, 2008 in Florida. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Carol Stephens (who helped raise her), and one brother, Eugene Terpening.
Survivors include three children: William Groom of East Peoria, Barbara Carr of Washington, Kenneth Groom of Denver, CO, two grandchildren: Sara Broyles of Pekin, Ben (Yvonne) Broyles of Washington, two great-grandchildren: Allison and Logan Broyles of Washington, and three sisters: Sue Chamberlain of Knoxville, Clara (Gary) Hornbaker of Arkansas, and Judy (Galen) Angelo of New Mexico.
Madge worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Maintenance Dept. at Dist. 150 for several years retiring in 1993.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
