Mary Bright, 72, of East Peoria, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born March 25, 1946 in Peoria to Carl and Dorothy (Imhoff) Carlson. She married Daniel Bright on June 3, 1967 at Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Michael Carlson.
Surviving are her husband of fifty years, Daniel Bright of East Peoria; three children, Suzanne Bright (Carl) Hansen of Nashville, TN, William (Donna) Bright of Allen, TX, and Katherine Bright (Michael) Paulson of Austin, TX; five grandsons, William and Charles Hansen, Chase Bright, and Wyatt and Alexander Paulson; a sister, Marlus (Gerald) Ritchey of Morton, IL; father-in-law, Joseph Bright of Centennial, CO; and many special family members.
Mary attended Lee Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Manual High School in 1964. She worked as a Sales Associate for 19 years at Macy’s until her retirement in 2007. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many.
A visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A graveside service will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11 am at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
