Marilyn Joan Williamson, 86, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 13, 2024, at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing of Eureka. She was born to Elry and Mildred "Midge" (Hammond) Campbell on June 4, 1938.
Marilyn grew up on Shelley Street on Peoria's Southside and was a 1956 graduate of Manual High School. She worked as Secretary/Treasurer for Campbell-Behrens, her family's business, for over 20 years, and completed her career upon retiring in 2010 from Tecco, Inc.,Peoria, IL.
Surviving are three children, Mary Jo Migas of Victoria, Lori Kocka (John) of Smithton, and David Williamson of Peoria, two brothers, Marvin Campbell (Velda) of East Peoria, and Merton Campbell (Glenda) of Manchester, Michigan, seven grandchildren Lindsay, Lauren, Alison, Jack, Lexie, Sydney, and J.D., niece Karen Campbell of Michigan, nephews Keith Campbell and Darrell Campbell of Michigan, and many great nieces and nephews.
Involved in the church her whole life, her faith began at the South Side Church of God, later Maxwell Road Church of God, and then the Zion Methodist Church. She primarily played the organ, but also the piano, following in her mother's footsteps as church organist. She had a love for the violin, having played in her high school orchestra. Marilyn crocheted winter hats as stocking gifts for the Peoria South Side Mission for many years. She also gave her time as a volunteer for the addiction recovery group at the Zion Methodist Church. She loved and served the Lord, never wavering in her faith. Marilyn will be remembered for her incessant kindness to others, her contagious laughter, and her delicious pies.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, IL. There will be a visitation from 10:00 am-11:00 am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Reverend Stan Morris will officiate.
Flowers, donations, and condolences may be sent to 521 E. Washington St., East Peoria, IL 61611. Burial to follow will be alongside her parents at Swan lake Cemetery in Peoria.
