She was born November 16, 1931 in East Peoria, to Marion and Beulah (Copeland) Galloway. She married William E. Buster on January 23, 1953, at Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2022. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister Esther Kegel.
Surviving are her two children, Curtis (Cheryl) Buster of Chillicothe and Michele Buster of Muscatine, IA; and two granddaughters, Erica (Matthew) Buster-Faubert of Naples, FL, and Staci (Kyle) Traeger of Pinellas Park, FL.
Marilyn worked for Sears and Roebuck in the Drapery Department and then later in the Sears Credit Central Department before retiring. She also owned her own lettering business and did lettering for clothing and sports apparel. In her retirement she worked at the Fondulac Golf Course, where she was a member of the Ladies Golf League. Marilyn also enjoyed volunteering at the Festival of Lights and as an usher at East Light Theater. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, pottery and spending time with her granddaughters.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Three Sisters Chapel in Chillicothe, please enter park through the North Entrance. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
